Markus Schulz---------------------
Forged in the fires of Arizona’s seminal 90s rave scene, Markus Schulz first went state, then national and with equal pace, international. From the building blocks of progressive, trance & house, he crafted early anthems like ‘The New World’ and latter-day ones like ‘Destiny’. Caught between have been many a revered album (most recently Dakota’s ‘The Nine Skies’ and ‘We Are The Light’), a convoy of club hits and thousands of mesmeric performances, played out before untold millions. He’s helmed the scene-essential Coldharbour Recordings label for 13 years, chaired the Global DJ Broadcast radio show for 17 and remixed everyone from Moroder to Madonna.
His floor-bound adventures have met with equal acclaim. Through his native audience affinity, flawless mixing, instinctive tune selection and now famous, stylistically vast open-till-close sets, he has wowed crowds in every major city on Earth. Markus has scaled the upper reaches of the world’s DJ rankings, is a three-time winner of DJ Times’ America’s Best DJ crown (’12, ’14 & ‘18) and has drawn acclaim from every electronic music portal & press outlet on the planet. A regular fixture at the world’s biggest & most famous clubs, arenas and festival stages, weekly, he lays down his inimitable musical vision. In Europe, he’s floored audiences at events like Transmission, Electronic Family, Nature One and Dance Valley. He’s creamed Creamfields; gridlocked Global Gatherings and hosted his own stage at Tomorrowland. Stateside, EDC, Ultra, Nocturnal and numerous others have all similarly felt Schulz pressure. His legendary open-till-close sets, at spots like Space, Miami, LA’s Avalon, Stereo, Montreal, Amnesia, Ibiza and his International Residency at Ministry Of Sound have become rites of passage for music lovers around the world.
Most recently Markus conceived and delivered the ‘Watch The World’ album. Released in Oct, 2018, the album ran in the same stylistic vein as forerunner ‘We Are The Light’, with a heavy, all-but-exclusive emphasis on song-based tracks. Again the album afforded Markus the much-desired chance to resume the songwriting, which first came to the fore on ‘WTW’. The album’s first numbers were introduced by way of Spring ‘18’s ‘In Bloom’ EP. ‘Calling For Love’, which featured vocals from JES and the Emma Hewitt-sung ‘Safe From Harm’ both debuted as part of the EP. That was followed in the summer by ‘Upon My Shoulders’, which featured frontman from indietronica outfit Capital Cities, Sebu. The album also came to include a first time collaboration with Christina Novelli, as well as co-productions with Romanian stars Smiley and Alina Eremia.

Genix
==========================
Genix has deep roots in dance music that have helped his production career to grow exponentially since his debut release in 2003. Since then he has become a mainstay of Anjunabeats, with other releases on Armind, Vandit Records, Enhanced Records and Reset Records to name a few. DJing alongside the world’s elite along the way, he has become a huge name in his own right. Pushing an explosive new sound that makes a departure from many of his previous works, he is one of the most exciting acts in Anjunabeats’ impressive stable.
With no compromise in his style across his 100+ released singles and remixes, he is an artist who is truly dedicated to his scene. Collaborating with and remixing the likes of Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Gabriel & Dresden and Cosmic Gate, he has become part of the fabric of the scene. His formidable sound blends the most vibrant elements of trance, techno, house and progressive into a potent, high octane cocktail. With a penchant for in-your-face textures and sounds set against stunning melody and beautiful atmospherics, his sound is at the vanguard of the trance movement. Blending reverence for the formative sounds of a 1990s dance music upbringing with the sounds of now, his tracks are consistently among the most spinetingling in the scene. He first found fame as a resident and promoter at legendary UK club night Passion, which was one of the epicentres of the ‘90s/2000s trance explosion. Cutting his name alongside the scene’s biggest DJs, he amassed a wealth of knowledge and experience that would give him solid foundations for the rest of his career.
By the time he turned his hand to production in the early 2000s, he had a keen understanding of what worked on a dancefloor, giving him a huge head-start. It quickly became clear that he was as talented in the studio as behind the decks, and it wasn’t long before he was attracting major attention. His massive remix of Peter Gelderblom’s ‘Waiting 4’ version Red Hot Chilli Peppers’ ‘Standing On The Shore’ was a huge hit on BBC Radio 1, and over the years he has remixed many of the trance scene’s finest, including Above & Beyond, Markus Schulz and Sander Van Doorn. Following years of building his name via releases on cult trance labels, he began a long and successful relationship with scene leaders Anjunabeats in 2013.
Over 20 originals and remixes later with Above & Beyond’s acclaimed label and he continues to be one of their most important artists, with some major plans in the works to elevate him to higher reaches still. His DJing has taken him across the UK, Europe, Asia, Middle East and Ibiza in recent times, and at one point he held the Guinness World Record for the longest DJ set in history, clocking in at 84 hours. He also recently broke the world record for playing a DJ set at the highest recorded land altitude, playing at Mount Everest Base Camp at 5,500 metres above sea level. He has supported Above & Beyond at epic shows across the world including at the New York Expo Centre, The Gorge Amphitheater in Washington and the O2 Arena Prague (as part of the ABGT350 event), and laid waste to some of the world’s biggest dance festivals including Tomorrowland, Creamfields, Dreamstate and A State of Trance.
His acclaimed 2019 compilation ‘Anjunabeats Worldwide 09’ has raked in over 1.2 million streams and was supported by a hugely successful world tour, while his huge collaboration with Grum ‘The Light’ hit #1 on Beatport’s Techno Bestsellers Chart for 2 weeks, peaking at #12 on their overall sales chart. The track received huge DJ support across the board, from Joel Corry to Oliver Heldens to Armin van Buuren, becoming the fourth most-played techno song of 2020, according to 1001tracklists. His long-awaited debut album ‘199X’ is due for release in September 2021, showing off his full range of styles, with a supporting world tour hitting territories including the US, UK, EU and Australia. He’ll warm up for all this and tease material from the album at Above & Beyond’s gargantuan 11,000 capacity Group Therapy event at London’s Drumsheds in August, making for his biggest London appearance to date.

COME DRESS FASHONABLY and JUST COME & HAVE FUN !
anamē: Old Norse, meaning: to adapt
anamē: fresh Scandinavian duo, meaning: songwriters, DJs and electronic producers, with a shared musical worldview and social philosophy, forged via a 20year friendship and killer third-party collabs. And the occasional bender
anamē: new Anjunabeats priority, meaning: old Norse(ish) friends of Above & Beyond compose and curate brilliant debut artist album, Beautiful World: an essential selection, already, for 2023
Marcus Schössow and Thomas Sagstad have been planning, plotting and dreaming anamē for two decades.
First coming together at a house party in Helsingborg, Sweden, the Swede and the Norwegian bonded over a love of artists (Sasha or early Tiesto), labels (Strictly Rhythm, Defected), ethics ("We both wanted to work hard for our dreams") and ideas.
As a laughing Schössow explains: "It was a quick bromance! For me and Thomas, loyalty and trust are ultimately the key foundations of a relationship. And we immediately felt that there was that brother feeling — certainly something I hadn't had in my whole life before."
Individually, each had success wearing multiple hats. Schössow made music as half of gardenstate; as a remixer for acts as diverse as Axwell Λ Ingrosso, Charli XCX and Zedd; and with releases on Axtone, Armada, Size, Spinnin' and Anjunadeep. Sagstad released tracks with Steve Smith of Dirty Vegas, formed the label Agape Music (a partnership with
Strictly Rhythm), and earned support from fellow DJs Carl Cox, Sasha, John Digweed, Tiësto, Armin van Buuren and Swedish House Mafia.
As family life, academic studies, and new homes in different countries threatened to separate them, their old connection drew them back together.
"About two and a half years ago, we sat down, looked at the stars, and said: 'Well, now's the time. Things are perfectly aligned for us to finally do what we talked about doing 20 years ago,'" recalls Schössow. "So that's how we came up with the name anamē. We've been adapting to whatever has come our way so far in life. And all of those experiences, all those life lessons, have become a map for the music we make together."
"We just want to make music that makes people happy," expands Sagstad. "It sounds so easy, but there's so much craziness going on in the world."
It wasn't long before anamē graced us with an array of incredible tracks. Across 2021 and 2022 the duo crafted an emotive collaboration with Above & Beyond and Marty Longstaff on 'Gratitude,'worked with BLR and Robbie Rise on club anthem 'Influencer,' and reworked the classics 'Burma' by Lostep and 'Tears From The Moon' by Conjure One and Sinéad O'Connor. Alongside A&B's Paavo Siljamäki in his P.O.S. guise, the pair remixed 'Lonely River' by singer-songwriter Kyan, and hooked up on P.O.S. track 'Good People.' A seven-minute floor-burner and positive living mantra that combines Latin heat with Finnish cool, the latter appears on the upcoming debut album from P.O.S.
That range, that ambition, that heart, that sense of adventure: all are front and centre — and buried in the DNA — of Beautiful World. It's the album that Schössow and Sagstad, individually and collectively, have worked their whole lives to create.
Over its 12 tracks (with 16, or more, to follow on the Deluxe edition), anamē present, literally and figuratively, their worldview.
Fulfilling their vision for the album also meant reaching out to others who fit with their sound. One of the first connections to be brought onto the new album was Bien. An indiepop trio from Nashville, fans know of their previous work with anamė from the 2021 viral hit
'The Best Part' which has over 50 million streams. Their latest collaboration, 'Must Be Dreaming' resulted in another uplifting cloudbuster to add to the LP.
"There's something about how Bien writes songs and how they sing which perfectly aligns with how we write and produce," says Sagstad. "It's just a natural flow, a flow of energy, all the time. So it's never hard to make a song with them. Once they send us something we can feed off, we can have it done in three hours. It's so instant, so quick, so effortless."
Even more instant was the inspiration that struck with 'Anywhere,' the first single to be released from Beautiful World. With rippling piano chords and a glorious vocal, it's a curtain-raiser with a message-bearing hook that drills into the importance of true, bonedeep connectivity: "You can take me anywhere, just as long as you're with me."
"It glues together what we are about," says Schössow. "Many of the songs on the album are with vocals, but that song has all the characteristics of our sound. The first time Thomas sent me that vocal, I was like, wow. It just hits in the heart. And it very heavily emphasises songwriting, which is key to us. We don't just want to make club records. We want to make music that tells a story."
Showcasing another colour in anamē's kaleidoscopic exploration of what dance music can do is 'Someone We Used to Love.' A rave-ready earworm, it features Lydmor, a Danish singer-songwriter with her own pop-star career in Denmark. Schössow's cousin sent him a Facebook video of Lydmor singing the song. While it had been released previously, anamē heard new possibilities.
"There was something so special about it," the Swede says of the vocal and feel of the track."The way she sings it, it's like you're in the story and we can feel her pain. It's one of those records that we've had on the hard drive for almost two years, and we keep coming back to it and saying: that is a good one.
"And it has a little bit of a controversial bite to it," continues Sagstad. "It's very edgy, rough around the edges. We just knew we had to do more with her. So we also have another song with her on the album, Peaceful Avenues. She's just one of those forces of nature that we knew worked with our sound."
There's a different kind of energy on 'Gravity,' a sublime folktronica anthem which anamē based on an original track by British singer-songwriter Richard Walters.
"We chose that track from Richard because it has this Americana vibe to it," explains Schössow. "I really love country music, but sometimes it's hard to put country music in dance music," he adds wryly. "But this track, as soon as I heard the guitar and the whole synth 'western whistle' sound, I thought: finally! It also has this melancholic Scandinavian vibe, like the theme tune to The Bridge," he notes of the cult "Scandi noir" TV series. In fact, direct inspiration wasn't far away: he lives very close to the titular crossing, across the Øresund strait between Denmark and Sweden.
"And I always wanted to do something with a similar vibe to the theme song," Schössow continues. "Then me and Thomas put [Richard's song together with our production TRUE?]. And it just matched our sound. It's perhaps the most singer-songwriter song there is on the album."
For Sagstad, 'Gravity' is a cornerstone song on the album for another reason. "I love the lyrics of the hook. It goes into gravity and the meaning behind that, keeping ourselves grounded and focusing on the right thing."
That was, too, the focus behind another collaboration. 'Closer' is a hook-up with Dutch indie band Vaarvel, long a favourite of Sagstad, under their new moniker Shobi.
"I wrote a demo on piano, just a loop," says the Norwegian. "And I asked our label manager: can we get them to sing on something? And he sent it over to them, this easy, super-basic, simple chord thing. And they sent us back an evolved version of that with some vocals."
"What is important for all the vocal songs we do is that the lyrics actually mean something to us," chips in Schüssow. "We've had plenty of really, really great demos from other writers but the lyrics didn't really touch us. For us, that's the most important thing. We don't try to find the most poppy vocal. We try to find the vocals that feel like something we can stand behind every day," he says, and he means that literally, too: anamē are playing around the world for much of this spring and summer, with later plans also in the works to tour with a roster of vocalists for a full, live, Beautiful World album experience.
That 360-degree idea guided their consideration of all their partners on Beautiful World, and not just the guest vocalists. When it came to a label, there was only one home for anamē.
"It comes back to what Marcus mentioned about how we created the idea of what we wanted this to be about," says Sagstad, "the philosophy behind the whole thing. This is supposed to be fun, right? It's supposed to be positive. It's supposed to be about community. It shouldn't be about ego. All of these things we clearly laid out all these years ago when Marcus and I first talked.
"So a huge part of us doing this now is Anjunabeats. What they stand for as a record label. Who they are as human beings. Who Paavo and Jono and Tony are. Who they are to us, and how they let us be what we need this project to be."
In fact, he points out, without the Anjuna family, anamē's debut album might not have happened in the first place. "Because neither of us were ready to take his project anywhere else. We needed a label, and what it stood for, that lined up with what we wanted to do."
That mutual faith, respect and energy is embodied in a fantastic track with a fantastic title.
Melodic techno instrumental 'Bermondsey Bender' is a nod of thanks to the Thameside South London neighbourhood where Anjunabeats have their offices and A&B have their studios. It is, in effect, ground zero for all the values and vibes that Thomas, Marcus, Jono, Paavo and Tony have in common.
"That song is about how we spent so much time down there — but it's not actually about a drunken night!" clarifies Schössow with a smile. "It's just about how that area of London has this energy. And you kinda leave with that energy, feeling completely drunk. Drunk on energy and good vibes."
"Very accurately put," agrees Sagstad. "When we're there, we're running between the office and the studios and the hotel. It's this triangle of streets. And you're so full of energy and adrenaline because you're trying to make everything happen while you're there. So I think that track is a good representation of us, and the album. It's fun to play with the whole bender idea. It's not really about that. But it still feels the same — in a positive way!"
From beautiful streets with beautiful energy to Beautiful World: this is the musical and emotional universe that Marcus Schössow and Thomas Sagstad have been working towards for two decades. A brand new adventure that's 20 years young, it's finally time for everyone to get involved.

Polar Inc. is the project of music producer Adam Spence.
Melodics meet movement when Cape Town based Polar Inc. creates a piece of music. Through every melody, scenes are built and dissected to prepare the audience for the pinnacle of each track, an amalgamation of rhythm and emotion. Polar Inc as an entity is something which finds itself sitting pretty between old-school mannerisms and New-Age sound profiles. An unorthodox palate you say? But it’s appealing to the ear and even more tantalising to the auditory journey.

Paul Oakenfold
----------------------------------------------------
Biography
For the past 30-plus years, Paul Oakenfold has remained in the vanguard of the global electronic music community. With more than 110 million streams collectively, over 5 million albums sold worldwide and three GRAMMY nominations, Oakenfold is one of the industry’s most revered and most successful artists—ever. Hailed as the “Godfather of electronic music,” he’s been voted the world’s best DJ twice by DJ Mag, named the most influential DJ of all time by the London Evening
Standard and recognized as the world’s most successful DJ by Guinness World Records.
Never one to rest on past laurels, Oakenfold continues to push the envelope via his game-changing performances and projects. He’s known for performing at exotic locales, like the Great Wall of China,
in 2003, and from within a 1000-year-old rainforest in Ushuaia, Argentina, the latter of which is recognized as the southernmost city in the world; iconic venues, including the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, where he sold out two dates, in 2003 and again in 2007, and played in front of 30,000 people; and world-class festivals like Coachella and Glastonbury, where he became the first DJ to play the mainstage at both events.
Lately, Oakenfold has launched several global, first-of-a-kind performances that take him into the world’s most awe-inspiring locations. In April 2017, he performed a once-in-a-lifetime DJ set at the top of the base camp of Mount Everest, Earth's highest mountain above sea level, following a 10-day hike. Following the rare performance, Oakenfold released Mount Everest: The Base Camp Mix (February 2018, New State Music), a full-length album mix that captures his Mount Everest set in full.
In addition to the album, he will soon release Soundtrek Everest, a brand-new documentary
chronicling Oakenfold’s momentous Mount Everest expedition. In September 2018, he became the first-ever artist to perform at Stonehenge, one of the world's most famous landmarks and a UNESCO World Heritage site, a groundbreaking gig now recognized as one
of the most iconic moments in dance music history. Oakenfold celebrated the legendary occasion via his newly released Sunset at Stonehenge mix album (February 2019, New State Music), which captures the historic DJ set.
Further in March 2019, Oakenfold performed at the opening ceremony of the 2019 Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi. In addition to the performance, he also remixed the Games’ official theme song, “Right Where I'm Supposed To Be” from world-renowned pop stars Ryan Tedder, Avril Lavigne, Luis Fonsi and other global acts.
A prolific recording artist, Oakenfold’s lauded discography includes three full-length studio albums, multiple live and compilation albums, countless singles, remixes and rave classics, and more than 20 DJ mix albums. He counts two GRAMMY nominations for his solo work—twice nominated for Best Electronic/Dance Album for Creamfields (2005) and A Lively Mind (2007)—with an additional third nomination (Best Dance Recording, 2010) for his production work on Madonna’s international hit “Celebration.”
Oakenfold has also written and produced for every superstar artist of the past four decades. His extensive list of collaborators includes everyone from Cher and The Happy Mondays to U2 and Madonna. Oakenfold also counts 100+ groundbreaking remixes for 100+ artists, including The Rolling Stones, Justin Timberlake, U2, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Britney Spears and Elvis Presley, among many others.
Oakenfold is currently working on Shine On, his fourth full-length album, which sees the master producer/artist expanding into new sounds. The album will feature cross-genre collaborations with today’s leading pop luminaries, including Luis Fonsi, CeeLo Green and more.
Following a relocation from London to Los Angeles in 2002, Oakenfold began to work on film scores for major blockbuster movies. He produced the original soundtrack for Swordfish (2001), which won him a BMI Film Music Award in 2002, as well as the music score production for the 2007 Japanese CGI anime film Vexille. He has also contributed music to scores and cues for breakout films like The Bourne Identity (2002), The Matrix Reloaded (2003), Shrek 2 (2004), Collateral (2004), The Heavy
(2010) and others. Additionally, he has produced and contributed music to major TV series, including
Big Brother, Showtime’s Californication and Transformers Cybertron, as well as video game
franchises like Frequency. On the live and touring front, Oakenfold single-handedly pioneered the DJ residency formula that has since dominated the Las Vegas and larger North American club market with his Paul Oakenfold Presents: Perfecto Las Vegas series. Originally launched in 2008 at Rain Nightclub at the Palms Casino Resort, the weekly Perfecto Las Vegas shows were fully produced spectacles featuring live theatrical performers, cutting-edge visuals and special effects. Elsewhere, the residency spawned Oakenfold’s 2009 Perfecto: Vegas mix album, which became the highest-selling DJ compilation in American history at the time of its release, with over half a million sales. Via his independent imprint, Perfecto Records, and its various sub labels, Oakenfold has shaped the dance music industry on a global scale. Founded in 1989, Perfecto has been integral in the birth of trance music and the overall development of electronic music as an international movement.
Perfecto, today distributed by Black Hole Recordings, has released influential albums and singles from dance music’s biggest artists, including Carl Cox, BT and Sandra Collins. Perfecto celebrated its 25-year anniversary in 2015 with the release of 25 Years of Perfecto Records, a compilation album, mixed by Oakenfold himself, that traces the label’s history and sonic evolution. And now, Oakenfold celebrates 30 impactful years of Perfecto, with upcoming plans for special projects currently in the works. With more than 10 million record sales to date, Perfecto looks ahead to the next 30 years as it leads the future of dance music via a class of fresh, young talents and exciting new releases.
During every major development in the history of electronic music, Paul Oakenfold has played a pivotal role. A boundary-pushing artist, Oakenfold is the forefather of modern dance music culture and its most prominent figure. His creative touch is omnipresent, his influence on the sound and scene is ever-lasting and his global impact on the industry is immeasurable.
Ora presents Darude Together Album Tour
Saturday February 17- 2023
Time: 10pm-2am ( 21 & over event)
Local Support:
Darude
To date, Darude remains one of dance music’s most influential stars. At the age of 24 and at the height of the trance boom of the early ’00s Finnish DJ / artist/producer Ville Virtanen created the milestone single ‘Sandstorm’ under his pseudonym Darude. The track went on to become one of the biggest selling dance singles in the history of electronic dance music with global sales of over 10 million units and to date featured on hundreds of compilations worldwide.
What started out as a national release in Darude’s native home of Finland went on to become a worldwide phenomenon taking ‘Sandstorm’ to #1 on the Finnish Dance Chart; a spot that it would dominate for 17 weeks. Released in June 2000 by Neo Records the track would see Darude became the first Finnish artist to reach the Top 3 positions on the UK singles chart. Following this, ’Sandstorm’ went on to go Platinum and became the ‘World’s best selling 12” vinyl’ of 2000. The track attained cult like status and gained strong support from industry heavyweights such as Radio 1’s Pete Tong, Tiësto and Paul van Dyk, as well receiving phenomenal radio support from national stations in over 70 countries. Still swelling in sales today ‘Sandstorm’ achieved Gold status in digital sales in the US in 2010 and Platinum in the UK in 2015, and re-entered the UK Top 40 Dance Chart in 2011, whilst finding new supporters in the likes of Calvin Harris, Hardwell, Zane Lowe, Diplo and Laidback Luke.
The success of his first three singles (‘Sandstorm’, ‘Out of Control’ and ‘Feel the Beat’) led to the release of Darude’s debut artist album, ‘Before the Storm’. The album would go on to go double Platinum in Finland, and Gold in Canada. Worldwide sales to date are over 1 million units. The album was supported by a gruelling 9-month worldwide tour taking in Europe, Australasia and Asia. In the spring of 2002, he followed up this world tour by embarking on a 7 week live show tour across North America – a daring project but one that paid off, solidifying his name throughout the North America club scene.
In 2003 Darude released his 2nd artist album ‘Rush’. The first two singles from the album titled ‘Music’ and ‘Next to You’ went on to conquer the #1 position on various charts across Europe. In 2006, after several years on the road, Darude went back into the studio to work on his 3rd artist album, aptly titled, ‘Label This!’. Released in the fall of 2007 in Scandinavia, fall 2008 in USA and then globally in spring 2009, the album was a melting pot of the modern sound of Darude.
His resume of accolades is a testament to the exponential growth of his profile as an international artist. Over the years, he’s appeared on TV networks such as BBC, NBC, CNN and MTV, as well as having won a number of prestigious awards that include 2 x German Dance Awards, Dance Star Award, USA Golden Turntable DJ Award and is a 3 x Finnish Grammy Award winner. His name has also appeared in numerous public-voted polls with previous entries in the Top 100 DJs Poll and Americas Favourite DJ.
With appearances globally across radio and TV, the sound of Darude has also been featured in various Hollywood movies, adverts for Nike, PlayStation games and popular sports broadcasts like the America’s NFL, Ice Hockey World Championships, Wimbledon, UFC (used by former champion Wanderlei Silva), Euro 2000 and the 2006 Winter Olympics and video game series DJ Hero. Integrating himself even further into the modernized world of gaming and apps, Darude joined names including Latino sensation Shakira and iconic rock band Green Day in having his very own, in-play character come to life on the game complete with Darude’s signature look, the first electronic music artist to do so.
Hailed by the likes of DJ Magazine as “Finland’s biggest musical export”, Darude has gone on to perform in front of audiences up to 100,000 people strong, sweeping across continents and rocking clubs the world over. From appearing at prestigious festivals and events such as Tomorrowland, LA Music Festival, Radio 1's One Big Sunday, Groove Cruise, Weekend Festival Baltic and Future Music Festival, to headlining some of the world’s best clubs including Ministry of Sound, Exchange LA, Home and Government, and Rain. One of the proudest DJ highlights has to be his New Year’s Eve countdown set in Helsinki where Darude ushered in 2017 with a performance in front of 100,000 people as part of the celebrations of 100 years of Finnish independence.
2015 saw the completion of Darude’s fourth artist album ‘Moments’, a new and exciting chapter in his career that showcases a range of style and influences, featuring both song-led and club focused records, including the emotive and trancey sounds he’s become so synonymous with. The ‘Moments’ era of Darude’s career began with the widely acclaimed first single from the album ‘Beautiful Alien’, followed by the release of the album itself through Warner Music.
In 2015, Darude also embarked on his ‘Moments’ tour, playing 10 dates across North America, culminating in a headline slot at the after-party for the inaugural TwitchCon gaming and tech in San Francisco, an event which also saw an appearance from Canadian producer/DJ deadmau5. Indeed, just a week before playing the show, Darude took part in one of deadmau5’s ‘Coffee Run’ videos, which saw the pair chatting on camera while driving in deadmau5’s Lamborghini supercar. The Canadian DJ noted Darude’s almost unmatched influence on the dance music scene in North America, stating that “you (Darude) and a very select few others are responsible for the influx of electronic music into North America…it was Sandstorm – I’m totally being serious…that’s what all the clubs were hitting on. That’s the first time (electronic music) became less 'underground and cool'...there wasn’t anything before that”. Darude returned the following year to headline TwitchCon’s 2016 event alongside Dim Mak boss Steve Aoki. Then in 2017, he enthralled crowds at Tomorrowland, Dancefestopia, Ministry of Sound Australia. 2017 and continuing to tour across the musical landscape with some of his biggest ever tours across the US and beyond,
Reliving the ‘Moments’ of his 2015 release, Darude gave fans a special Extended Mix of his 4th artist album with several genre variations, alongside club and original mixes from some of the album’s most notable tracks to complete the package. 2016 also saw the official release of the studio album’s title track ’Moments’. A stadium setting record, with Sebastian Reyman on vocals, ‘Moments’ delivers an emotive tone with a heart-piercing melody, strong bassline punch and suitable but dramatic piano, which encapsulates the Finnish producer’s forward-facing style.
Adding to his stellar discography and remaining as fresh and exciting as ever with releases including ‘Singularity’ and a remix of Max Millian’s huge ‘You Are The One’, Darude continues to excite in 2018 unleashing one of his biggest tracks in recent years ‘Surrender’ with Ashley Wallbridge on Gareth Emery’s Garuda imprint. Premiered on Armin van Buuren’s ASOT and holding 2 weeks at #1 in the Beatport Trance charts, ‘Surrender’ marked a momentous start to 2018 for the multi-platinum star, and more recently Darude released ‘Timeless’ on Garuda, supporting the single with a tour across the US, New Zealand, Australia and beyond.
Darude was announced as Finland’s entry for Eurovision Song Contest 2019, the world's biggest live music event uniting nearly 200 million people every May. Working with frontman from The Giant Leap, Sebastian Rejman, Darude will feature at Eurovision with the nation selected song ‘Look Away’. The song chosen out of three possible options, with the other songs being ‘Release Me’ and ‘Superman’, will now carry Darude, and Sebastian, all the way to Tel Aviv in May.
