Keoki is America's
FIRST superstar DJ. Over two million records sold, magazine covers, movies, film, The Simpsons episode soundtrack cameos, over six million miles traveled, exclusive private soirees . . . and now the launch of Disco 3000, what has this living legend NOT done? He has been on Apple Music, Billboard Dance, Spotify, Beatport, Traxsource, 1001Trackslist, and iTunes music charts for three decades and running! URB, DJ Mag and Mix Mag have all run features. A major musical contributor to a cultural phenomenon, a pioneer for dance music in the USA, Keoki is all of these things and more. Born in El Salvador, Keoki was raised in Hawaii, but New York drew him in at age 16 in 1985. Immersing himself head first in the growing underground dance music culture of NYC, Keoki was exposed to various differing sounds prevalent at the time. He crafted his own unique connections with those on the dance floor. When a DJ gig at Danceteria, a journey that would make a huge
impact on dance culture in the USA began in earnest. What Keoki pos-
sessed that others of his era lacked was the anarchistic flamboyance
and showmanship that accompanied his sublime musical creativity.
Whereas many DJs could put together solid, floor-shaking mixes,
Keoki added so much more, and his personal style -- both in terms of
fashion, lifestyle, and music - landed him right in the iconic center of
the Club Kid movement in the early '90s when Keoki maintained a leg-
endary residency at the Disco 2000 night at NYC's Limelight. Keoki
packed the house, drawing in new fans of electronic music from all
over the country and taking the scene to new levels of euphoria and
expression. Keoki continues to do this today with the rebirth of NYC nightlife in a post pandemic world with Disco 3000, his newest residency at Manhattan's hot new nightclub called Nebula.
