Rinzen is an electronic artist from Los Angeles seeking to build entire worlds with his music. Born Michael Sundius, Rinzen began his career in 2017 when he was signed by deadmau5 to
the Canadian’s renowned electronic imprint, mau5trap. Known for launching the careers of artists like Skrillex and Rezz, mau5trap became the home base for Rinzen as he went on to release 3 consecutive EPs on the label.
Following the success of the EPs, Rinzen soon found himself on tour with deadmau5 himself, performing over 20 dates with Zimmerman across the world, from Verti Music Hall in Berlin, to Fabrik in Madrid, to Printworks in London.
The success of the tour thrust Rinzen into the international spotlight, earning him recognition from Mixmag, DJ Mag, Billboard Dance and Dancing Astronaut, with all 4 publications hand-selecting Rinzen as an artist-to-watch.
Firmly cemented as a talent on the rise, Rinzen’s music next found a home on an impressive pedigree of international labels: everywhere from John Digweed’s legendary Bedrock label, to Sasha’s Last Night on Earth imprint and Rufus Du Sol’s Rose Ave. With his music now being played by global titans like Tale Of Us and Carl Cox,
Rinzen soon became a sought-after entity for many of North America’s iconic festivals, making appearances at EDC Las Vegas, Ultra Music Festival, and Lightning in a Bottle.
Having made a name for himself across the underground and wider dance scene alike, Rinzen now turns his attention to one label in particular: Lane 8’s This Never Happened imprint.
The label stands at the cusp of a burgeoning melodic house movement, with Rinzen poised as the imprint’s breakout new star following the announcement of his debut album on the label: Bend to the Light.
The album, slated for April 2024, promises a 10-track cinematic journey from Rinzen, offering his most comprehensive body of work to date. With the album on the horizon and a world tour to follow, the rise of Rinzen has only just begun.
